About Lessons for Kids
Lessons for Kids
Who can register for lessons?
I start young students at age five and up (and I have also started exceptional four year olds).
Growth Opportunities
You can't possibly learn to ride a bike by reading about it in a book, can you?
Well, if you want to be a good musician, performance experience is fantastic training! That's why I offer lots of performance experiences for my youn students. While performances are never mandatory, they are encouraged. Just seeing what peers are learning can give a student just the inspiration he needs.
Here are some fun events in which young students can take part:
Studio Recitals
Four performances at Leithold Music are scheduled each academic year.
WMTA Auditions
Students (both competitive and non-competitive) memorize music, take a written exam and are awarded points for their achievements. Badger Auditions will follow for competitive participants with qualifying scores.
WSMA Solo/Ensemble
Ask your school music department for more information on these events. Piano and vocal students can participate as soloists or as members of groups.
LAMTA Halloween Showcase
Students perform in costume at Valley View Mall at the end of October.
